With warm, sunny temperatures of between 72°F and 88°F all year round, the weather in Grand Cayman is hard to beat for visits at any time of the year.
As the leading retailer of premium wines, beers and spirits in the Cayman Islands, Jacques Scott Wines & Spirits offers the widest selection as well as FREE delivery to anywhere in Grand Cayman in all types of weather.
Winter (November – April)
This is the “high season” or “dry season” in the Cayman Islands and the most popular time for people to visit. You’ll enjoy lots of sunshine, little rain, and wonderful sea breezes. January, February and March are the mildest months (average high 75° F/24° C; average low 68° F/20° C), while November and April are the warmest (average high 86° F/30° C; average low 72° F/22° C). Water temperatures range from 78°F to 82°F in the winter.
Summer (May – October)
During the “off season” or “wet season,” you’ll experience more rain from May to June and again from September to October, but temperatures are also warmer at this time of year, averaging 87°-90° F/30°-32° C. Water temperatures range from 82°F to 86°F in the summer. Our crystal clear, calm seas are perfect for diving, snorkeling, sailing and fishing at this time of year, and you’ll appreciate fewer crowds and discounted hotel prices.
Hurricane Season (June – November)
Hurricane season runs from June 1 to November 1 in the Atlantic, but the Cayman Islands are far enough west that most storms passing through the Caribbean Sea turn northward before they reach us. The water can be choppy, however, particularly during August and September, so take this into consideration if you are planning to enjoy our world-class scuba diving destinations.
Things to Do on Grand Cayman in the Rain
Rain showers in Grand Cayman typically clear up as quickly as they arrive, lasting only a few hours at a time. If you’re trying to stay dry, however, there are many interesting things to do, including:
Cayman Islands National Museum – Everyone in the family can absorb some of the art, history and culture of the Islands. The Museum houses exhibits and artefacts, including boats, furniture, textiles, paintings and ceramics. There is also a simulated submarine and an interesting children’s gallery.
National Gallery of the Cayman Islands – Art lovers appreciate the high-quality collection of Caymanian artworks here, as well as the scheduled and drop-in art classes and workshops for adults and children. Get a feel for the Island’s history through art, from its seafaring days to its development as a global financial center and popular tourist destination.
Cayman Spirits Company Distillery Tour – Stop in at Cayman’s first and only distillery for a behind-the-scenes look at their Seven Fathoms Rum and Gun Bay Vodka distilling processes. Experience a working distillery and enjoy some samples of their rums, vodkas and liqueurs.
